词源记忆法
来自古希腊神话Python,大蛇，地球守护蛇，为地母Gaia之子。因神王宙斯与黑暗女神勒托私通，遭到神母赫拉所妒忌，因此在勒托临分娩要生下太阳神阿波罗时，赫拉派大蛇皮同追杀勒托，阿波罗出生后，为报此仇，在古希腊德尔斐神庙杀死了皮同，犯了对地母Gaia的大不敬，受到宙斯的惩罚，为此罪愆忏悔赎罪。其名字来源存在争议，一说是来自Pytho,该词为Delphi神庙旧称，可能来自pythein,腐烂，腐败，词源同putrid,因大蛇皮同被阿波罗杀死肉身腐烂于此地得名。一说是来自PIE*dheub,深的，地底，词源同deep,因Delphi神庙在古希腊时期被认为是地球中心，而皮同守护于此。由于神话传说的久远，其中逻辑关系比较混乱，莫衷一是。
